Coin
Coin: A coin is a type of cryptocurrency that operates on its blockchain. Coins are often used as digital money or a store of value. Examples are Bitcoin ($BTC), and Solana ($SOL).
Bitcoin (BTC): Bitcoin is the first and most well-known cryptocurrency. It was created in 2009 by an anonymous person (or group) named Satoshi Nakamoto. Bitcoin operates on a decentralized blockchain and was designed as digital money to be used instead of traditional money. Its value can fluctuate a lot, but it’s often seen as “digital gold” because many people hold it as an investment.
Solana (SOL): Solana is a high-performance blockchain designed for dApps and smart contracts. It was founded in 2020 by Anatoly Yakovenko. Solana focuses on high speed and low transaction costs. Its native currency, $SOL, is used for transaction fees and to secure the network through staking.
Stablecoin: A cryptocurrency pegged to fiat currency to maintain a stable value, e.g., 1 USDC = 1 USD.
